The Difference Between Beauty Salons and Beauty Bars

We all know beauty salons generally offer hair styling, blowouts, cutting, colouring, straightening and even perms. Some also offer esthetics like manicures, pedicures, waxing, threading and lash extensions.

Beauty bars are different from traditional salons in that they often focus on “quick” beauty services such as brow waxing, threading and tinting, as well as shellac manicures and pedicures. The atmosphere is usually modern, and the decor tends to be quite chic.

Our new Glamour Secrets Beauty Bar, located on the lower level of the Avalon Mall in St. John’s, is no exception! Since starting in our Avalon Mall kiosk in 2020, we have already become known for specializing in eyebrow waxing, threading, and tinting, as well as 30-minute Dermalogica facials. Now we’ve added shellac manicures, pedicures and gel nail enhancements to the list. We do full sets of nail extensions and nail fills in our comfortable, lounge-like setting. As always, our highly trained staff make sure all clients have a great experience in our unique and upbeat Glamour Secrets setting.
